Harmonious movement education
The art of learning to move freely,
from both sides.
Harmonious movement education, not therapy
Your body has two sides, but almost always uses only one — and with a limited number of movements. There’s a hand that holds the phone and one that scrolls, a foot that goes first up the stairs, a shoulder that has always carried the bag. You didn’t decide any of it: it happened early, when you were too young to notice, and your body has repeated it thousands of times a day ever since. Bilateral Education is the method through which harmonious movement is taught: the work that gives you that choice back.
Harmonious means in two voices: a body is harmonious when both sides are sounding, and you are the one deciding which one starts. It also means elegant — but elegance here is the consequence, not the goal. What harmonious movement education is →
It isn’t a destiny.
It’s a habit.
Who is it for?
Everyone — and before the athlete or the actor, it serves your health. A body that always loads the same side pays for it over the years: the shoulder that pulls, the hip that wears down, the back pain that always returns to the same spot. It isn’t a cure and doesn’t replace your doctor — it’s education, the simplest way of taking care of yourself before the body presents the bill.
Nothing gets corrected here.
It isn’t gymnastics, it isn’t therapy, it isn’t postural correction. I don’t teach you to use your weak hand and I don’t straighten your posture: I make you notice where the movement starts from, and give you back the possibility of choosing it.
What changes
It isn’t a cure. But something changes, and it shows.
You notice things you’ve been doing for twenty years
Which foot starts, which shoulder carries, which way you turn. It seems little: it’s the shift from automatism to something observable, and it happens the very first time. In the same session you feel the tension your body was dragging for no reason let go. And you take home a test you can redo alone in twenty seconds.
The load stops going to the same place
A body that always starts from the same side accumulates it there. Being able to start from the other one distributes it, and over twenty years that’s the difference between a joint that wears out and one that takes turns resting. Meanwhile the weight reaches the ground more fully: stable without stiffening.
Not stronger on one side: available on both
It doesn’t make you better at the gesture you already have: it gives you the one you don’t. Fighters stop being readable. Performers no longer have their presence tilting to the same side. And anyone, when the usual side is tired, has an alternative instead of stopping. When the strong one can’t, the other is no longer a stranger.
Everything else rests on a single instant. You shift your weight from one foot to the other and, halfway there, something pulls: the body is no longer still and has not yet left. It lasts a fraction of a second, and usually you cross it at speed without noticing it was there.
Three roads open from there: go with it, come back, or open a new direction. Learning doesn’t mean starting from the other side: it means recognising that instant and staying inside it long enough to be able to choose.
You find the same shape elsewhere. In a tension you have been carrying for a long time, at the precise moment you notice it: there too you can go along with it, stiffen, or let it take another road. Whether the same happens with a thought is not something I promise you: it is something you discover, not a result I sell you.
Who I work with
People with a side stuck for years
Athletes, performers and professionals living with a shoulder that pulls, a hip that always takes the load, a gesture that only starts from one side. We’re not looking for the weak side to strengthen it: we look at why the other one can’t let go.
Centres, schools and practices
Sports centres, theatre and dance schools, rehabilitation practices: Bilateral Education gives your coaches a tool they don’t currently have, and gives you a concrete way to stand out. How it works for a centre →
Who’s proposing this
A philosopher who arrived at the body. I studied philosophy and have practised Yang-style Taiji for more than ten years, alongside Taoist meditation; then Chinese medicine, stage and sport. At some point the two paths stopped being separate, and Bilateral Education was born.
This isn’t theory off the cuff: it comes from an experimental philosophy thesis and from research with stated, falsifiable hypotheses and a public DOI. I also have two years of training in Gestalt counselling — as background, not as a service. The research, with the documents → · The full story →
Where to start
Three ways in.
The method
The three choices that decide the side, the eight configurations they generate and the centre you choose from: how it works, explained from the beginning.
The articles
Body, culture, sport, stage and medicine: the same principle read from many sides, for those who prefer to understand before trying.
The test
One minute, sitting down: ten everyday gestures to see how often you start from the same side. Not a label, a number — and the point to start from.

FAQ
Before you ask
Is it a therapy or a workout?
Neither. Posture isn’t corrected and the weak hand isn’t trained: you learn to notice where movement starts from and to be able to choose it. It doesn’t replace your doctor.
Do I need to be fit?
No. You start from the gesture you already make; no preparation needed. Just comfortable shoes.
How much does it cost?
The ninety-minute one-to-one session costs forty-five euros; you don’t pay for the first one unless it convinces you.
How do we arrange it?
Write to me and we’ll arrange it: I’ll reply with place and time.
Your body is already doing it. For years.
The question is whether you want to decide it. Write me two lines: I’ll reply and we’ll see how to work on it.
